Nasce nel 1995, in provincia di Modena (e precisamente a Carpi), il marchio Liu Jo, dall’idea di due fratelli, Marco, lo stilista, e Vannis, la mente economica-finanziaria.
Partiti da un settore importante come quello della lana, i due fratelli negli anni ’80 danno vita a una collezione di maglieria coloratissima e ultra stretch, stufi di lavorare “per altri” e certi del loro successo. E così è stato.
Il nome è ben consolidato in Italia e punta tanto anche sull’export , a oggi conta più di 130 negozi monomarca in Italia e 800 multimarca indipendenti; mentre all’estero ci sono circa 110 monomarca e più di 100 multimarca sparsi tra Europa e Asia.
Il successo è dovuto dal fatto che il brand è molto apprezzato da giovani ma anche da donne adulte per il suo rapporto qualità/prezzo e perché i capi sono, nello stesso tempo:femminili, alla moda-ma non troppo-e formali.
Nelle ultime stagioni, soprattutto le borse, sono diventate tra le più apprezzate dalle italiane, grazie anche a una attivissima pubblicità a cui ha partecipato la bella Kate Moss, da sempre Icona di stile e da cui prende il nome anche uno dei modelli principali, la “Kate” appunto… e se piacciono a lei: il successo è assicurato.
